Jupiter People

A hand-embroidered linen set drawn by Ole Ukena. The Jupiter People series explores mass and weightlessness — figures large enough to suggest planetary scale, rendered in thread that catches light like breath.

The artwork is not finished. Every body it touches continues it.

The technique

The feed dogs are lowered. The linen moves freely under the needle. Ole draws the design in chalk first. The team follows those chalk lines layer by layer, building density and texture over days.

No computers. No programmed patterns. Each pass is a decision. Each piece varies slightly from every other piece made from the same drawing. The variation is the record of how it was made.
